WILL OF Elizabeth Fitch OF Whethersfield, Essex


I Elizabeth Fitch of Wethersfield in the County of Essex widow do make public and declare my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first I give and bequeath unto care of my two sons William Fitch and Septimus Fitch three Silver Table Spoons marked T.E.FF and I give to my son Octavus Fitch my Gold Watch and I give to my daughter Mary the wife of Thomas Mears my Diamond Ring and I give all my Clothes and Weaving apparel and the residue of my Jewels and Tanfels?  to my two daughters Sarah Fitch wife of William Walford and Maria the wife of Richard Lamprell equally to be divided between them and I give to my friend Thomas White of Wetherfield aforesaid Esquire and Thomas Bills of Black Motley in the said County Gentleman my executors thereinafter handed five guineas each as a small acknowledgment for their trouble in undertaking the execution of this my will and from and after payment of my just debts the legacies residue and remainder of my personal estate and efforts whatever and wherever as follows that is to say I give out twentieth part thereof to my Granddaughter Mary Walford who now lives with me the daughter of the aforesaid William and Sarah Walford and I give all the rest of such residue and remainder of my said personal estate and efforts unto my said four children William Fitch, Maria the wife of Richard Lamprell, Septimus Fitch and Octavius Fitch equally to be divided between them and those alike and I nominate and appoint the said Thomas White and Thomas Bills executors of this my Will and my will is that they my said executors will not be answerable the one for the thee or for the arts deeds receipts defaults or payments only and that the or they shall not be answerable for any loss that may happen in the execution of this my will thee than such as shall happen through the residue wilful default or neglect and hereby ____ all future wills by me ____  I declare this only to be my last will and testament in writing whereof I the said Elizabeth Fitch the testator have hereunto my hand and seal this 12th day of November in the year of our lord 1824: Eliz Fitch (sig) signed sealed submitted and declared by the said Elizabeth Fitch the testator as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence of her request  and in the presence of each they have subscribed and marked as witnesses thereto John Green, Jno Holmes
